"Sewing with Anne wasn’t just about learning a skill—it was an experience I’ll never forget."
I took Anne’s sewing classes as a middle schooler from 2007-2009, and they sparked a lifelong love of sewing. I still remember the cozy classroom, picking CDs to play, and learning techniques that felt so challenging at the time—perfect corners, steam settings, even leather details. Anne taught me patience, confidence, and the joy of creating something with my own hands.
One of my favorite memories is my grandparents visiting from D.C. and picking me up from class—they thought it was amazing I had real sewing lessons! That passion stayed with me. When I was a teenager, my parents gifted me a sewing machine, and it’s been working overtime ever since.
Now, at almost 30, I have my own sewing room, complete with fabric shelves, an ironing board, and that familiar steam smell that instantly makes me happy. Sewing is still my creative escape, and I’ve even started Buddy’s Blankets, a volunteer project making baby blankets for adopted cats at a local rescue.
Anne’s classes didn’t just teach me to sew—they gave me a lifelong passion. If you’re considering lessons, do it. It just might change your life!
